Christmas 2008

So sorry with my delay with posting about Christmas, needless to say we have been quite busy this last 6 weeks or so! We did have a wonderful holiday though! Although hard for some of you to believe, I still have not mastered this good parent thing yet. Christmas Day I completely forgot to take any photos! Mommy was in charge of the video camera this year so the still shots were never taken. I think from this point on though I will blame that on Scott, he was just watching the kids, he should have remembered to take some pictures. Anyway...Christmas eve the boys helped me make cookies (no salmonella comments needed), and then got to open their new p.j's. Christmas morning Jake took a present into Carter to help him wake up, so sweet! The boys were very excited with all the presents. Jake loved all his gifts and wanted to play with them immediately, he got mad that he would have to open more presents and not play with what he already had, aaahhhhh two is great! It did take Carter a little time though to appreciate his gifts! I surely could have done without the "I didn't ask for this", or the "I don't even like this!", and it just so happened that the one gift that mommy and daddy tried so hard to get but stores were completely sold out of was the one gift that apparently was most important! It is heart wrenching to see the pure excitement on his little face when he ran out to see all the presents and he says "Oh, I hope he brought my Thomas' Great Discovery Track!" and to know that it isn't there. Ugghhh!! So Santa gave his first "I owe you" instead of the "you should be grateful for what you have" talk. Unfortunately, we are STILL waiting for those darn elves to make more "Thomas Great Discovery Tracks" Mommy is running out of excuses, Amazon better hurry and get them in stock. Grandma and Grandpa Topham, uncle Tyler and Kyla came to stay with us a few days after Christmas, this is where they got their new blankets Grandma made for them. We really enjoyed having everyone here!

A Lost Tooth!

Tonight Carter lost his first tooth! We have been wiggling this teetering tooth for about 5 days! It was my intention to get the going rate for a tooth these days prior to it falling out, but procrastination once again has got the best of me. I think we have it figured out though! I truely thought that Carter would be nearly toothless by this age with a little brother as fiesty and "hard-headed" as Jake. Perhaps the head-mouth collision on New Years resulted in loosening this tooth. The kiddo didn't even know it fell out. One minute he is rough-housing in the bathtub with Jake, the next Mommy wonders why there is blood dripping down his chin. No fear the tiny tooth was found in the grimey bath water! One more major milestone past in the Tucker household! Carter asked Daddy what would happen if he woke up when the toothfairy came, Daddy said he probably wouldn't wake up, but if he did he needed to grab her quick, because if you catch the toothfairy you get all of her money! Carter says he doesn't want a lot of money just like 100 because that is a medium number, 1000 would be too much!! Stay tuned for updates on the "Wrangling of the ToothFairy".

These wonderful pictures were taken mid-December, by an obviously awesome photograpgher in Gilbert. She did such an amazing job, not too hard to do though, when you have such a cute family to work with! :)
